Saves you money by finding concerns that can be corrected before more expensive damage is done Provides you confidence and security that your vehicle is safe The more you know about your car's condition, gives you the ability to maintain.
Coolant system flush is recommended once a year.
Some systems, depending on the type of coolant used, may go longer.
The climate in your area may lead to servicing more often, for example in areas where ambient temperatures are go degrees and above, climates that go from extreme heat in the summer.
Having low tire pressure causes more drag between your tires and the road, thereby making your engine work even harder.
DMC recommends that you do a tire pressure check every time you fill your fuel tank.
Another option is to have your tires filled with Nitrogen which is more stable gas.
Some of the benefits of Nitrogen in tires are less fluctuation in the tire pressure, reduces tire pressure leak down under increased temperatures and longer lasting tire life.
If your vehicle's spark plugs or spark plug wires are misfiring, you could be loosing up to 30% in fuel efficiency.
In the past, carburetors used to deliver fuel into the engine.
Today, most vehicles use a fuel injection system.
This type of fuel delivery system uses a fuel injector which is a computer-controlled valve that takes pressurized fuel supplied by an electronic fuel pump and atomizes it, turning it into a fine spray, that burns easily.
The atomized fuel is sprayed through a throttle body that delivers the atomized fuel to each cylinder through the intake manifold.
Several sensors report back to the computer to regulate the rate of fuel injected and burnt.
Brake fluid absorbs moisture lowering its boiling point and more importantly as it absorbs moisture it becomes corrosive and can cause damage to very expensive brake components such as the ABS modular pump which in some cases could be over $1,000 to replace.
A complete exchange of contaminated fluid replaced with dot specified brake fluid using modern flush equipment.
A few dollars spent regularly flushing your brake system can save you hundreds of dollars down the road especially in modern brake systems with anti-lock brakes, traction control, and vehicle skid control.
Why change oil?
As your engine runs, it uses the oil to lubricate its moving parts and remove excess heat from the engine block.
Oil is subject to extremely high temperatures, splashing, turbulence, and thermal shocks (oil goes from high operating temperatures while the engine is running, to cooling down when the engine is shut off).
Another consideration is that most times we do not let the cold engine warm up before we take off.
Due to the above conditions and cycles, certain chemical changes take place and the oil begins to break down and even turn acidic.
