Services
Proper air conditioner operation is a MUST in central Texas!
Every part of the system must work together in order for you to get that cool relief sitting on I-35.
The A/C system is put under it's most stress sitting in stop and go traffic and like anything else, this takes its toll on everything from your blower motor, to your compressor and even the radiator and engine cooling system.
Checking the charge level of the refrigerant is done by attaching hoses with gauges to the service ports.
By reading the high-side and the low-side pressures, I can determine if the system is malfunctioning or simply low on a charge.
I only use quality brake parts because I too hate brake noise!
Cheap pads can lead to a lot of dust on your wheels or lead to warped rotors.
Some brake shops will offer "lifetime" brake pads.
I've found they install an extremely hard brake pad which usually leads to the rotors prematurely wearing thin and warping.
Granted the pads might be covered, but they'll get it back on the rotors and anything else that takes a beating in the mean time.
It's worth it to pay a bit more and do it right the first time.
Everyone's favorite nemesis, the check engine light.
It can mean so many different things ranging from a harmlessly loose fuel cap to a defective catalytic converter.
True, you could run to your favorite parts store and they will scan it and give you a code number and maybe a list of possible causes.
Keep in mind they sell parts.
The more they can sell.
Ok so now what?
Error codes don't really tell anyone what has definitively failed, but offers insight into which system may have a fault.
A fault code could be the result of a different failure altogether.
Possibly the most over-looked parts on any car.
Suspension components can be expensive to replace and therefore easy to put on the back burner.
Ball joints and tie rod ends are very important parts that should never be overlooked.
The ball joint is responsible for allowing the wheel to pivot as you turn and carries a lot of the vehicle's weight on it's shoulders.
Early warning signs of a defect can include a squeak when turning.
As the joint wears more, a clunk over bumps or when turning can develop and once there is enough play in the joint, a vehicle can begin to pull left or right while driving.
ATF, or automatic transmission fluid, is one of the most important fluids under your hood.
It is the lifeblood of your transmission and takes a beating!
Heat is the biggest enemy to this fluid because there is a lot of friction and pressure generated within the transmission.
The byproduct of all these forces is heat.
In every automatic car, there is a small cooler that helps to cool the circulated fluid before it returns to the transmission.
Even with this cooling, the ATF breaks down over time and loses its ability to properly lubricate.
