Services
I have loved working with Martin's here in Oak Harbor.
When I moved back home my van needed some serious work (still does) and my parents suggested Martin's.
I brought my van in for an oil change and diognostics.
They treated me so well and helped me figure out what would be the best plan in getting it running better.
They were very accommodating and helpful.
I have been back to them for more work as I've needed it and the prices are fair and realistic.
But what makes me love them the most is when I bring my messy dirty van in for an oil change and find that they have vacuumed the front seats.
The maintenance needs of an all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle are different from those of a typical two-wheel drive (2WD) car.
Service needs depend on how often it's driven in severe conditions including off-road use, towing, and how often you travel through dust, dirt, or mud.
Our all-wheel drive service usually includes changing the fluids for the front differential, rear differential and the transfer case.
Every 30,000 miles is the typical time frame to have this done if you're using conventional fluids.
Most batteries don't give you much warning before dying.
One or two slow starts is about it.
The typical battery lasts about 3 to 6 years, so it's good to have it inspected when you have your car serviced.
When you need a new battery we can help you find the one that fits your car best and has the type of warranty you are looking for.
There is a wide range of prices depending on the type of vehicle you own and how long you want the warranty to last.
Repairs for hybrids can be more expensive because they run on multiple batteries that have a higher price tag.
A belt or hose failure can lead to an overheated engine, loss of power steering, and loss of the electrical charging system.
It's important to have them routinely inspected.
Belts are important because they help to move the engine while hoses transport fluids (oil, water, break, coolant, etc.) around your engine.
Most belt and hose repairs are low cost except for the timing belt.
Those can be much more costly to fix because they are located deep in the engine.
And most times while we have your engine "opened up" it's a good idea to go ahead and replace some of the other belts and hoses (check for maintenance issues) so that you don't have to pay the labor to get back into the deep part of your engine again.
Brake service and repair is extremely important.
Being able to stop your car is obviously a major concern on some of our areas curvy and steep roadways.
It's a good idea to have your brakes inspected every time you rotate your tires.
And if you're someone who commutes in heavy traffic you may want to have them inspected more frequently.
