Southgate Automotive is a local Reno auto repair shop owned and operated by David and Cameron Taylor, a father-son team with a deep-seated love for fixing cars. David got into the auto repair business by way for his father-in-law, who owned Southgate Chevron since 1963, but even before then, he had watched his father building engines in the home garage and started working on his own cars in high school.
After joining Southgate Chevron, David became manager and then lead technician, so Cameron, in turn, spent a lot of time in the shop growing up, learning from his dad and grandfather. In 1995, the Taylor family separated from Chevron, and Southgate Automotive became the independent auto repair shop it is today.
