In 1941 L.T. Dixon, my grandfather, saw a need in Elizabethtown for a tire and automotive facility to provide this area with quality products and service at a fair price, E-town Recapping Co. was developed to fill that need. This new trend of automotive service continued for many years under the direction of my father, Robert L (Bob) Wright.
With Elizabethtown and the surrounding areas growing rapidly in the mid 1960's Rowland Ricketts saw room in the market for another automotive service center and opened Rick's General Tire.For many years these two companies thrived as friendly competitors in the local market meeting the automotive repair needs of the people in this area.
