Matt Poston opened Poston Motor Company in the summer of 2004. It is named after his grandfather's Chevrolet dealership that was in business back in the 1940's. Apparently, auto mechanics runs in the Poston blood. Matt's first car was a 1967 Mustang. This car turned him into a mechanic as he modified and repaired it. In 1987 he moved to Atlanta and got a job at a repair shop.
Initially, it was just a job to get him through night school. After graduating from Georgia State University with a management degree, he began to think about owning his own shop. He then went on to take all of the ASE tests to achieve his master mechanic certification. With over sixteen years of experience in working on cars and running shops, he decided to go out on his own.
Today the shop has nine lifts and employs six. With no drive by visibility the shop stays busy relying on referrals from satisfied customers.
